December is the month of GIVING!

This month the Oakman Lions will be joining Rudy’s Sock Drive. Rudy is an 11 year old boy who has made it his mission to collect socks and give them to the homeless. We are working with Rudy to come visit our school later in the year for an assembly against bullying.  

This is an amazing opportunity to teach our students young and old that WE ALL CAN HELP,WE ALL SHOULD HAVE COMPASSION, and WE ALL SHOULD HAVE EMPATHY.

Greetings Parents,

You may have noticed QR Codes on the hallway walls in our building. QR Codes can be scanned like a bar code using your phone. After downloading a QR Reader App, you will be able to scan these codes and access valuable information.

Some of our teachers have QR codes displayed that link to student work and even student portfolios.

There are also some QR codes posted in the hallway that will link you to our Oakman School Portfolio. This portfolio will allow you to see our school initiatives, data, parent involvement and goals.

If you need help downloading a QR reader app, please ask one of our staff members for assistance.

Dear Parents,

Oakman School is excited to invite you to our first Celebration of Steps to Success this Wednesday November 29 @ 1:30 for grades 3-5, and @ 2:30 for grades K-2. There are many great things to celebrate such as Honor Roll, Math Masters, Most Improved, and Bucket Filler/ Student of the month. If your child is being awarded in any category, Please make every effort possible to join us as we celebrate and recognize our Oakman Students.

We will be celebrating our students’ success this Wednesday at our CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY. Teachers will present awards to their students for Honor Roll, Math Masters, Oakman Mathematicians, Most Improved and Bucket Filling.

It is almost BLACK FRIDAY and we are still using the Shoparoo App on our phones to raise funds for Oakman School and you can do it too!

All funds will go towards Oakman’s PTA

Shoparoo gives us points for receipts that are scanned. You do not need to pay anything, just simply scan any receipt you have.

Oakman ELLs in grades 1st through 5th experienced a Thanksgiving meal together. Students were able to apply their Thanksgiving vocabulary and celebrate the way that the pilgrims and Native Americans did so long ago.

Oakman Parents,

The PTA needs help Friday morning (tomorrow) with bagging popcorn. If you are available between 8:30 and 10:00 am, we would greatly appreciate it.Also, Friday 17th is PAJAMA DAY. Pay $1 and wear your pajamas all day!!’

Do not forget that tomorrow is also MOVIE NIGHT!!!

We are still collecting cans for our food drive. The class with the most food donations will win a pizza party. All food items will be donated to needy families in the community.
