Is your child reading 20 to 30 minutes a day and following the CAFE strategies discussed at the parent meetings? Ask your child who, what, where and when before, during and after they read the story. Go through the pictures first and have them predict what they think may happen. Ask the child to write about it in their logs.

Hello Parents,
During Winter Break it is imperative that students engage in activities that promote academic success. Often during these long breaks students spend little to no time engaged in activities that enhance skills that are taught in the classroom. This year at Oakman Elementary we are piloting a trial period of Studydog. This is an online reading based program that is research based and coincides with CCSS. Furthermore, this program facilitates reading fluency and comprehension.
Your child has been assigned a username and password to access this program. Not only is this program being used at school but is also accessible from home. Have your child practice each day on this site during break in order to build upon learning and not regress during break.

خلال عطلة الشتاء لا بد من مشاركة الطلاب في الأنشطة التي تعزز النجاح الأكاديمي.
في كثير من الأحيان خلال العطل الطويلة يقضي الطلاب وقتاً قليلاً في الانشطة التي تعزز المهارات التي يتم تدريسها في الفصول الدراسية. لذلك ستقوم مدرسة اوكمن هذا العام بتقديم برنامج Studydog لفترة تجريبية. هذا البرنامج للقراةء على الانترنت يتزامن مع CCSS. وعلاوة على ذلك، هذا البرنامج يسهل القراءة بطلاقة ويحسن القدرة على الاستيعاب.
لقد تم اعطاء ولدكم اسم المستخدم وكلمة المرور للوصول إلى هذا البرنامج. بالاضافة الى إستعمال هذا البرنامج في المدرسة يمكن استعماله في البيت خلال العطلة وكل اوقات الفراغ. الرجاء التأكد من زيارة ولدكم لهذا الموقع خلال العطلة من اجل البناء على ما تعلموه في المدرسة ولكي لا يتدنى مستواهم العلمي خلال العطلة.
