It is time for our Parent Computer Workshop. Many of you filled out our survey last month and indicated an interest in various computer skills. Please join us on Wednesday March 23 @ 8:45 am in the cafeteria with the technology committee for a great session. You will learn new computer skills, how to access the teacher and school websites and advanced skills like programming. Sorry, absolutely NO CHILDREN are permitted to attend this session with their parents.
لقد حان الوقت لدورة تدربية للاهل على إستعمال الحاسوب. ومن خلال اجوبتكم الشهر الماضي في استطلاع الرأي تبين لنا انكم بحاجة لمهارات الحاسوب المختلفة. الرجاء الانضمام الينا نهار الاربعاء في 23 اذار/مارس الساعة 8:45 دقيقة صباحاً في قاعة الكافيتريا ولقاء اللجنة التقنية في المدرسة.

Tomorrow is the end of the IGYB challenge. Join us in the gym @ 2:30 pm for the celebration. If your child bought a t-shirt please let them wear it tomorrow for the assembly. Also, tomorrow is NOT Book Character Dress Up Day. It will be on March 25th instead.
Please remember to count your child’s kind acts on their logs and send it to the teacher by tomorrow, Wednesday, March 16th.
Just a reminder that this Wednesday, March 9th is a late start. School begins at 9:35am and kindergarten is NOT in session.
In celebration of Diversity Month in February Oakman students, parents and faculty enjoyed a concert by the talented and famous Maples Drumming Ensemble. The students ranged from 2nd to 5th grade and played arabic drums, recorders and sang traditional arabic music. Thank you to Mrs. Prowse for her hard work and dedication in preparing the students to be honored Oakman Guests. We hope to see them again in our school!
Oakman students and parents enjoyed a music concert on Monday, March 7th @ 10am. Thank you to Ms. Green and Ms. Ventura for preparing the students for a wonderful presentation.
Thank you to the Dearborn Education Foundation for awarding Oakman School a $2500 grant to purchase books.

Want to donate a book to your child’s classroom? Purchase books from the Book Fair, signed by your child, to give to the teacher for her classroom library. What a wonderful keepsake for the classroom from your family!
Hello Parents, 3-4-11
Monday is the first day of the Book Fair and we have very inexpensive books, posters and fun things to sell. We ask that each child purchase books to support our March is Reading Month goal and the PTA. . We will be open all day in Rm.106 before school, at lunch time and after school. You can send money with your child to purchase when his/her teacher brings them down as a class. Ms. Beydoun needs one hour volunteers this week. Please call her at 768-5262 to give your time. WE NEED YOU. One hour is not alot to ask this week.
