FRIDAY’S EVENTS 3-16-12- NO FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT TOMORROW!

Tomorrow is a busy, busy day at Oakman School.

Join us for a great celebration tomorrow morning for the end of the IGYB Challenge. The students have been practicing kind acts towards one another and keeping a log. The top three children will be awarded certificates for having the most kind acts logged. Let the children wear their IGYB t-shirts if they own one. Ms. Oynoian is selling them  in honor of her nephew’s foundation for $10 each.

Also, we will be doing our monthly Bucketfiller Assembly. These students will receive recognition for being caught doing something good. It could be helping a friend, stopping a bully, being honest, or anything that represents the Dearborn Public Schools Core Values. We want our students to be good citizens and these programs promote such behaviors.

At 9:45 we have a performance by the IRISH DANCERS. This should be a great treat!! Come watch the dancers do the Irish Stepdance in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day AND LET THE CHILDREN WEAR GREEN!

The PTA will be busy making popcorn AND setting up the BOOK FAIR.  Children will preview the Book Fair in the afternoon with their teacher and be able to purchase for the first time afterschool.  There are many cheap books and posters to choose from. Tax will be charged.  Teachers have created a wish list and you can purchase books as a gift for the classroom library. Each child that  donates a book will fill out a sticker that will be pasted in the book before presenting to the teacher. It will be a lifetime token to the teacher from your child.

THERE IS NO FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT TOMORROW. IT HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 3-28 DURING SCHOOL HOURS @ 2:30 PM.
