A Message From The Principal

Dear Oakman Parents,

When I came to Oakman School I knew that I’ve became a member of a caring and super dedicated group of people! Also, I had no doubt in my mind that Oakman School is a special place due to all of the parents support and the positive relationship that exists between staff, students and families! The first semester has passed like a blink of an eye. Now the second semester has started with a full force. Our staff and students are working hard on accomplishing the goals they have set for themselves at the beginning of the school year. I urge you to keep active and be involved in your child’s journey through school by keeping in touch with the teacher. This can be accomplished via several means such as: making an appointment to speak with the teacher, communicating with your child’s teacher by email or by posting your comment on the teacher’s blog. Being on the same page with the teacher is an essential component of success to your child’s academic growth. On a different note, I’d like to inform you that I’ll be on a short medical leave ( six days) starting on February 9. In my absence , Mrs. Zahra Zreik is going to be the acting principal . She currently serves the district as an assistant principal at Lowrey school. She’s an excellent leader and I feel safe that she’ll be in charge as I tend to my medical need. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact her at (313)827-6500. She’ll gladly do her best to answer any of your questions or concerns . Thank you for your continuous support and for being a great advocate for your child. I look forward to joining my Oakman Family in the near future!
Best Regards,
Mahmoud Abu-Rus
